Acoustic Avenue is a one-night-only return to Ottawa for singersongwriter Alexander Bella, joined by close friends and fellow artists Pat Rees and Matt Spafford. Taking place at Live on Elgin on September 4th, the night promises stripped-down sets, honest storytelling, and the kind of songs that bring you to a standstill. Now based in Hamilton, Alexander returns to the city that shaped so much of his musical journey—bringing with him a set of songs born from late nights, early mornings, and quiet moments that stayed longer than they should have. Pat Rees and Matt Spafford will open and close the evening with solo sets of their own—each offering their own take on what it means to share something real through music. Expect a laid-back atmosphere, rhythm you can lean into, and songs that speak without raising their voice. Acoustic Avenue isn’t about the big moment. It’s about the still one.

Alexander Bella:
Alexander Bella is a singer-songwriter from Hamilton, Ontario, whose sound draws from folk, blues, and soul traditions. With a deep, expressive voice and a groove-driven acoustic style, Alexander’s music captures stories and ideas of love, reflection, and everyday life. His 2024 single “Spiral” introduced audiences to his raw, heartfelt songwriting, and he’s set to follow it up with a debut EP arriving later this year. Performing a mix of original songs and timeless covers, Alexander brings an intimate and engaging presence to every stage, continuing to carve out his place in Ontario’s independent music scene.

Pat Rees:
Pat Rees is a singer/songwriter from Peterborough, Ontario, whose music blends indie, folk, and country influences. Known for his deeply personal and introspective songwriting, Pat explores themes of love, heartbreak, and existentialism with a profound sense of honesty and vulnerability, captivating live audiences and deeply resonating with listeners. Dedicated to creating music that inspires us to feel, heal, and grow together, Pat invites you to follow along on his journey.

Matt Spafford:
Hailing from Ottawa’s west end, Matt Spafford is known for blending elements of indie, pop, rock, and blues into songs that echo the spirit of British music from the ’60s, ’90s and beyond. With a focus on honest, emotive performances, he brings a raw energy to the stage that resonates with listeners. A familiar face in the local scene since 2015, Matt can now be found performing around the city solo or with Ottawa-based bar band Garden Variety.
