Famous 5 Foundation Speaker Series Sarnia Lambton - October 2025

Join us for an inspiring lunch with Alexandra Giancarlo, born and raised in Sarnia. Alexandra is currently an assistant professor at the University of Calgary and co-author of the book, Beyond the Rink which looks behind the images of residential school hockey to examine residential school sports and recreation.

In her talk, Alexandra will reflect on lessons learned across her life path living in different parts of Canada and internationally. She will also offer reflections from working cross-culturally, especially insights from working with Indigenous elders on projects that aim to advance decolonization in university settings and across Canadian society.
