In honour of National Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Day
Beyond Survival: Life Before and After Trafficking with Kaitlin Bick
March 2, 2026

This event will be hosted on March 2nd in honour of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day which occurs annually on February 22nd. Through this event, it is our goal to promote education and awareness on this issue to those in our community. This will be done through a presentation from The Centre, formely known as the Sexual Assault Survivors Centre Sarnia-Lambton.  This event will also include keynote speaker, Kaitlin Bick, Anti-Human Trafficking Specialist.

About Kaitlin:
Kaitlin brings over 8 years of frontline experience supporting survivors of human trafficking, gender-based violence, and housing precarity. A graduate of Seneca College’s Social Service Worker Program, she also holds an Advanced Counselling Certificate and extensive training in trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practices.

She has worked across multiple agencies including East Metro Youth Services and LOFT Community Services, providing peer support and advocacy in high-risk, community-based settings. Kaitlin has also supported families at BOOST CYAC and delivers training to law enforcement, service providers, and the public on domestic sex trafficking and survivor-centered care. Driven by lived experience, she is a powerful advocate committed to dismantling stigma, centering survivor voices, and promoting systems change through education and frontline action.

Each attendee will receive a swag bag, with light refreshments available throughout the event. Counsellors will be on site to provide support and debriefing as needed. For any questions about this event, please email hunter@thecentresarnia.ca!
