New Age Doom and Thunder Queens
at Skinny's Bar

NEW AGE DOOM:
Consisting of core duo Eric J. Breitenbach and Greg Valou, Vancouver-based New Age Doom is a genre-defying project that thrives on spontaneity, experimentation, and intensity. Their music blends genres like drone metal, progressive rock, jazz, dub, and global styles. Their latest album, “There Is No End,” features Norway’s Tuva Hellum Marschhäuser on lead vocals and leans into a more melodic direction while retaining the band's signature freewheeling chaos. In 2021, their collaboration with Lee “Scratch” Perry resulted in a poignant and critically-acclaimed swansong and tribute for the late dub legend.

THUNDER QUEENS:
Embark on a sonic journey of revelation in motion with Thunder Queens, the London, Ontario based trio Violet Bruneel, Lola Hayman, and Clara Magnan. With their debut full-length album "Strike One," Thunder Queens deliver blend of doom-tinged grunge, onyx-toned punk melodies, and searing multi-part harmonies - all while creating a mesmerizing sound that is uniquely their own. Unafraid to experiment, Thunder Queens conjure the vitality of Sheer Mag, the range of Black Sabbath, and the urgency of The Runaways. With over half a decade of playing together, Thunder Queens fearlessly explore emotions and themes with the curiosity of youth and the solidarity of sisterhood. As Thunder Queens gaze at the future, they remain clear-headed, pushing boundaries and staking their claim in the industry.
