Pith:
Pith has been a freak folk fixture of the Ottawa/Montreal corridor for over 10 years. With the 2025 release of 4th LP “Guinevere”, the band has honed its sound into psych-tinged, punk-tinged queer cosmic country. Anchored by the effects drenched nylon string of front-they Chrissy and backed by scene veterans Emily McQuarrie (Napster Vertigo, DJ Smoke Weed Guy), Sarah Bartlett (Lake Urmia, From Them) and Cole Emberley (Deathsticks), Pith has spent the 2020s delivering zany yet cathartic sets everywhere from Montreal to Sault Ste Marie. TLDR, nonbinary dad rock!

Free Violet:
Free Violet is a femme-fronted alternative rock band based in Montreal, QC. Blending elements of grunge and ethereal dream pop while channeling the raw emotional intensity of ’90s female alternative acts, they create a sound that is equal parts delicate and iron-willed. Alongside traces of post-punk shaping the band’s brooding sonic edge, layered vocal melodies and distorted guitar riffs expand into a haunting soundscape that traps audiences in its clutch.
