Loch Nisse Monster w/ Gondola and Jude Zappala
Loch Nisse Monster w/ Gondola and Jude Zappala
at LIVE! on Elgin
Loch Nisse Monster:
Loch Nisse Monster originated from the swamps of an Ottawa 70's-themed house party, where in a drunken haze the singer-songwriter was told that her name sounded like the famous monster of Loch Ness. Nisse brings the folky vibe of this mysterious fantastical creature to her songwriting, telling stories and painting joyous and painful emotions. Along with musical inspiration from the genres of rock, pop, and punk, the "monster" in Loch Nisse Monster doesn't hesitate to get at ironic and unjust truths in the world around, yet with the hope of tales.
Gondola:
Gondola is a moody alt-pop rock band from Montreal, QC. "The kind of music you think three guys with mustaches and a lesbian would make." It's indie, melancholic, yet melodic. You'll sway, laugh, and get a bit emotional, ready to find unrequited love.
Jude Zappala:
Called “extremely talented” by compatriots and “unjustifiably damp” by Yelp reviewers, Jude Zappala is an 18-year-old musician from god knows where. He has recorded two EPs and five albums since 2021 and will continue to do so until we can locate the basement from which he operates. His music has been compared to that of Wilco and Dirty Projectors, and his photograph was once compared to a police sketch of the Ottawa Valley Arsonist. He currently attends Carleton University.
